Sully has been playing baseball since he started Little League in 1980, and played three years of varsity in high school and three years at NAIA Pfeiffer University, which is now NCAA Division II. He also spent nearly three decades playing in various adult summer leagues such as the Jersey Shore League, United States Over-30 Baseball League, Glory Days Baseball League and the over-35 league in Atlantic County. He also was a volunteer assistant coach at Vineland High for two years and Atlantic Shore Babe Ruth 13-year-old all-stars for several years. A middle infielder by trade, at one point Sully was the only non-catcher or first baseman on Lacey High’s all-time fielding percentage top 10 list. His brother, Paul, is former head coach at Lacey High and founder of the Glory Days Baseball League in Ocean County.
